In perfumery vocabulary, Pine Needles Absolute Colourless (MD4) is associated with fresh pine, green, terpenic, balsamic, cool and dry woody. Its creative role is an agile top-note instrument with vivid lift, giving structure and character to complex accords.
In the organ, use it to build open a conifer forest accord, enrich freshen incense and introduce give fougeres needle clarity. As top note, it offers signature rather than mere theme.
Absolute extraction preserves a broad, saturated portrait of the source. Traditionally, fragrant biomass is first solvent-extracted and the resulting concrete or resinoid is purified with alcohol, giving perfumers a dense material rich in less-volatile facets. The colourless grade was created for pale formulas where the material’s effect is desired without strong colour contribution.
