In perfumery vocabulary, Clary Sage Absolute is associated with ambery herb, hay, tea, tobacco, lavender and soft leather. Its creative role is a deep base-note material with architectural presence, giving structure and character to complex accords.
In the organ, use it to build fougère bodies, enrich amber-herbal accords and introduce tobacco lift. As base note, it offers signature rather than mere theme.
Absolute extraction preserves a broad, saturated portrait of the source. Traditionally, fragrant biomass is first solvent-extracted and the resulting concrete or resinoid is purified with alcohol, giving perfumers a dense material rich in less-volatile facets.
A vintage material for contemporary creation
