A heads fraction captures the volatile, high-register face of cistus: aromatic scrub, resin vapour and dry Mediterranean herbs before the darker amber body arrives. It can give an otherwise heavy balsamic structure a flash of untamed air.

In perfumery vocabulary, Cistus Essence, Heads S/00182 is associated with terpenic, aromatic, resinous, dry herbal, ambery and slightly camphoraceous. Its creative role is an agile top-note instrument with vivid lift, giving structure and character to complex accords.
In the organ, use it to build lift a labdanum accord, enrich add wild scrubland air to amber and introduce open incense with aromatic brightness. As top note, it offers signature rather than mere theme.
