In perfumery vocabulary, Apple Shavings Absolute is associated with orchard-fruity, cider-like, tart peel, dried fruit, waxy and lightly woody. Its creative role is a deep base-note material with architectural presence, giving structure and character to complex accords.
In the organ, use it to build textured apple and cider accords, enrich orchard facets in tobacco and leather and introduce dry fruit depth without confectionery sweetness. As base note, it offers signature rather than mere theme.
Absolute extraction preserves a broad, saturated portrait of the source. Traditionally, fragrant biomass is first solvent-extracted and the resulting concrete or resinoid is purified with alcohol, giving perfumers a dense material rich in less-volatile facets.
